Framus Laute, 5/106 (Sonette)
The aunt of a friend got this Framus lute, my years ago, from a German couple who emigrated to Brazil many decades ago, and it was now given to me. After a good cleaning and new strings, it looks (and sounds) great. Looking at the label inside, one can barely see that there is anything written besides the serial number; just a smudge where the date/month of manufacturing are. So I did some digital processing to enhance readability and I think it is from December 1967 (67L). The first digit seems to be a 6, but it is so smudged that I can't be sure, from several photos and processing trials I did; it might as well be a 5. The model number became very readable, it's 5/106, which, according to this site, is a Sonette. One can even (barely) see the Müller signature in the digitally enhanced photo. There is also a label, on the back of the headstock, from the music store where this was originally sold, I suppose: Musikhaus Pries, in Frankfurt am Main.
